A short clip about a project I was involved in recently..
My design for Florence & The Machine’s ‘If Only for a Night’ track was printed onto a 7” vinyl sleeve and sold at the exhibition. (All proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust) - I would love to know who bought my sleeve!
A few weeks ago it was announced that I’d won the exciting opportunity to present my work to a panel of industry professionals at the Pick Me Up contemporary graphic art fair, Somerset House, London. Alongside leading illustrators, the panel included commissioners within advertising, fashion and publishing.
The presentation took place in the heart of the Pick Me Up exhibition space where my portfolio was projected onto a huge screen for the panel and Pick Me Up visitors to see!
After I’d nervously ‘pitched’ my work, the panel gave me advice on feedback, which was incredibly informative. Although it was the scariest thing I’d ever done I am so glad I plucked up the courage to do it. The Enquiry Desk team were super helpful and pulled off a fantastic day. It was really great to meet other illustrators too and it was really inspiring to see such brilliant work on show!
The Enquiry Desk produces events that bring professional help to creative talent. It caters for students, postgraduates and practicing graphic artists & illustrators who seek constructive professional advice specific to their work. Alongside bookable portfolio reviews, The Enquiry Desk delivers talks at academic institutions and designs larger public events on creative professional practice and relevant topics. Launched in 2012, The Enquiry Desk was founded by Josie Sullens and Zara Wood.
The Enquiry Desk is back at Somerset House next month, offering bookable confidential portfolio reviews on Saturday 14th April.
I have just completed this amazing project for Browns Fashion in London. I worked on designing and illustrating 7 backdrops for the Easter window displays. Centred around the theme of ‘taking flight’, each studied drawing and curated sketch incorporates the themes, patterns and colours of the season. To give the windows more depth I painted feathers and birds onto the glass.
Painting the windows was a challenge, not only because I was uncomfortable with the medium and scale of the work but because I was exposed to the public on the most popular high street in London! -I didnt have the privacy of my home studio with my confined a4 sheet of sketching paper and my pencil!! Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and it has proved to be a successful one.. I look forward to the next one!
More images can be viewed on my Facebook page here
See the windows for yourself at Browns flagship store: 24-27 South Molton Street, London, W1K 5RD. Nearest tube- Bond Street Station. Or at their Sloane Street store: 6C Sloane Street, London, SW1X 9LE. Nearest tube- Knightsbridge.

I’m a little late on setting my new years resolution and should probably have uploaded this kind post on the 1st of January.
Today got me thinking.. after a couple of rubbish weeks and having felt like I’m slipping into a depressive hole- I need to stop, sort myself out, and do something about it. So, I’ve set some goals that I want to achieve in 2012 and I want them all ticked off by 31st December.
I’m trying to get a few new projects started to improve some skills/get new work in the olde portfolio and try a bit of collaboration. I’ve been flicking through The Big Book of Fashion Illustration for some inspiration and have come across a wonderfully unusual pencil illustrator- Cecilia Carlstedt some very tasty bits of pencil, line and colour block!
I’m a little late in posting up this exciting bit of news I received over xmas.. but here it is!
My ‘Ghost Bike’ illustration, created for FAKE Magazine has been selected for the Images 36 publication- New Talent category :) The news came just after some of my other work was selected for ‘Illustrated Portraits’- a publication also being released 2012.
“Images is the UK’s leading illustration competition, annual, awards show, and touring exhibition dedicated to showcasing the very best in new British illustration. It is unique in that it is Britain’s only jury-selected illustration competition, judged by a highly regarded panel of industry experts. Works selected by a jury of industry professionals are published in the Images annual, a selection of which are exhibited in London and subsequently go on a national tour.
The annually published book celebrates illustration excellence and is distributed to a specially targeted list of 4000 international commissioners and sold worldwide”.
The Secret 7” project is a competition that combines music and art in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Creatives have been invited to design artwork for a seven inch vinyl sleeve inspired by Florence and The Machine’s song - ‘If Only For A Night”. 700 unique entrants will be selected to exhibit their work at the Idea Generation Gallery in London, in the week leading up to Record Store Day 2012. On that day, each of the vinyls at the gallery will be sold with all the profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for me to gain exposure, having my artwork seen by millions, be exhibited alongside established artists and in the process, raise valuable funds for Teenage Cancer Trust.
I would really appreciate your support, thank you x
The snow has started to fall.. so here’s a wintery illustration for you all!
Wishing everyone a very merry christmas and a happy new year! A big thank you to everyone that has supported me this year.. I’m very much looking forward to 2012, and I hope you all are too! x
I had my first market stall yesterday at The Dandy Lion Arts & Craft fair in London. Although we were all a little disappointed with the turn out of punters I had a fun day nevertheless. I managed to sell a few prints and everyone was very complimentary on the work I had on sale.. so that made me smile :)
I’m currently on the look out to for some craft fair/markets around the midlands to attend.. so if you know of any that might have a spare spot for me, please get in touch!
Many of the items I had at the market yesterday will soon be for sale on etsy! (hopefully within the next couple of days) There are some lovely items that would be perfect for that unique christmas gift- so check back very soon to have a gander!
I will be selling lots of lovely things at The Dandy Lion Market, Highgate, London on Saturday 12th November.
I will be posting up some photos next week for a chance to have a little peak at what I will have on my table.. christmas cards, limited edition prints, necklaces, keyrings, bookmarks and little pocket mirrors!
There will be a little gift for my first 5 customers!!
Come along and say hello! :)

A few weeks ago I tweeted about one of my illustrations that has been featured in AMMO magazine. I’ve finally found a few minutes to upload some pics to show you. So, here it is…. along with a couple of other pieces of work that I really liked in there too. (Gary Venn - The Lake and Uberkraaft - Code Garden). The mag is great, so little and cute. You can buy it over at ammomagazine.co.uk
